Where can I begin with a property like this? It´s massive, 400m2 of structurally incredible build, it´s like a fortress surrounded by just short of 40,000m2 of land including over 200 olive trees.
It is five minutes from the Sax, one of the most wanted areas in inland Spain as it is just 30 minutes to Alicante Airport and five minutes more to the beach. It is very private, overlooked only by a beautiful pine forest, it has the biggest private swimming pool I have ever seen, you could probably open it to the public it is that big. It has a garage big enough to be converted into a bungalow and it has the best views of Sax castle you could imagine, in fact, you couldn´t imagine it you just have to view it to see how breath-taking it is.
So, what is the catch? There isn´t one. Originally on the market for 500,000€ the owners have priced it to sell as it is never used and needs modernisation and a new pump for the swimming pool but it can be lived in immediately and comfortably and the work can be done in stages. The photos and the video bear this out, no filters have been used, no special lenses it is at it appears.
The access is excellent with all tarmac roads leading to the first set of gates to enter the land via the long driveway to the gates of the property. Think of a country estate and you won´t be far wrong.
The enormous garage is at the end of the driveway but there is a very large carport on the right hand side just before you reach the house and there is no end of parking around the house.
The entrance doors, like all the doors inside are impressive wooden doors as you would expect and they lead into a huge lounge/diner that leads out onto a huge covered terrace which is perfect for dining and/or entertaining but there are many more exterior opportunities with natural shade.
There are two kitchens, one on each floor and both are functional but I expect the buyer will make improvements to the main kitchen, the downstairs one which has a walk-in pantry, typically Spanish. There is a bathroom on each floor that reflect the kitchens in that they are functional.
The stairs have leading to the first floor have some beautiful iron railings and they lead to a large landing with doors out to the big terrace where the views are the very best and the breeze from the mountains is wonderful even in the heat of the summer.
There are four double bedrooms, unfortunately, as can be seen from the photos, a lot of furniture has been stored in two of them and this is a theme throughout but everything will be cleared for the buyer.
The second kitchen is off the landing along with a good sized bathroom and a long hallway.
Back out to the land where, near to the swimming pool, are steps leading down to changing rooms and a shower room, a Summer Kitchen - a traditional Spanish feature that has a huge BBQ and a feature fireplace, a pump house for the pool and storage and utility rooms.
This is a prestigious property and it is know by everyone in the town as one of the leading properties in the countryside. It needs a buyer who wants the very best and has a budget of at least 50,000€ to modernise it and, of course, more can be spent depending on the quality chosen. If I was the buyer I would budget 75,000€ which would enable me to put in two new bathrooms, a new kitchen downstairs and I would take out the upstairs kitchen in order to make an en-suite bathroom for the master bedroom, then I would factor in around 10,000€ to replace the pump of the swimming pool and seal the tiles of the pool as it hasn´t been used for a long time. I would have motors added to both sets of gates to enable use by a remote control and I would replace the windows as I love them but they are old. The rest of the money would be spent on a complete interior whitewash which would make it really come alive and I´m sure I could find a few more things to do but it would look incredible when I finished and I mean, incredible.
