Some of the best local restaurants
We are often asked "where should we go to eat well" and it´s one of those questions where we can´t help being hesitant as restaurants change hands, sometimes frequently, chefs come and go but here we go:-
El Botanico Del Roc (Villena)
https://www.elbotanicorock.com...
We love this place as it´s casual, beautifully presented, consistently good food, ridiculously inexpensive and great for people watching. The Menu Del Dia is around 13-14€
Condumio (Villena)
This has been our absolute favourite for the last two years but it has changed hands and we haven´t been since. We have heard it´s not the same but we will go again soon. The home made bread, a course by itself served with Extra Virgin olive Oil, Truffle Butter and Himalayan Salt dips was so good we couldn´t help but eat too much and then not manage to get through our following dishes. The deconstructed smoked hamburgers served theatrically are excellent and the fish courses were always simple yet superb.
Best Churros is at Churreria San Pascual in Elda, go on a sunny winter morning and soak up the sunshiine whilst eating piping hot churros dipped in equally hot chocolate.
In Elda, our current favourite restaurant is Xambel and their 30€ Menu includes a Hot Stone for cooking your steak but you have to reserve a table 24 hours in advance. You can book on the internet.
In Elda we also like Tenaz and Che Regazzi then there is Fabrica a very cool Burger place with good tapas.
