Description

A property with almost everything including the A31 Alicante to Madrid road within minutes. I mention the a31 because it is important that we are honest with our descriptions and sometimes it is important to mention a negative. There is road noise when you are standing in the grounds of the Villa that can also be heard from the pool area, however, this has been taken into consideration with the price. How bad is the noise? Again, being honest, we were there at the time of an Eastward wind which meant it was at its worst and it is noticeable but I live in a similar situation and we found that after two weeks we didn´t notice it. If the idea puts you off then it is not for you but if you want something special that is full of features but has one drawback then it really should be. on your list.

The property is located a few minutes drive from the castle town of Petrer in a gated area of only three properties all owned by the same family, and all the amenities you could ask for including a cinema showing three or four English movies every week and a shopping centre with the usual suspects and traditional local shopping in the centre of the town which is bursting with cafes and restaurants. 

The Main House is entered via a large conservatory, you can get an idea of the size by imagining it without the collection of furniture the Spanish feel compelled to keep, this is a great space that has sliding double glazed windows so that you can keep the warmth from the sunshine in winter and open them up in simmer to feel the benefit of the mountain breeze in summer. There are four bedrooms, a lounge/diner with a feature log fire and a bathroom and a decent sized kitchen although the majority of the cooking in Spanish Country Houses is reserved for the BBQ. The interior would benefit from modernisation as little has changed over the years as these are typically second or third homes. Structurally the property is excellent.

The Guesthouse had 1 Bedroom and 1 Bathroom and then there is a garage and a Workshop each of which can be made into extra accommodation if required. 

The pool and terrace area is very private and a fabulous place to enjoy a swim or just to relax and sunbathe. There are many different areas of natural shade if you fancy some alfresco dining in the heat of the summer months along with a BBQ. The restaurant Buenos Aries which is quite excellent is about two minutes' walk away.
